HAPPY MONDAY 12

HEY HEY GENTLEMEN AND GENTLEWOMEN---

SO WE ARE ON TOUR NOW, AND IT HAS BEEN SO GREAT SO FAR. WE HAVE PLAYED WITH LUDACRIS TWICE, SO BEAT THAT...
I AM IN TALLAHASSEE FLORIDA AS I TYPE THIS...AND THE INTERNET ON THE BUS SUCKS AS MUCH AS THE WEATHER HERE.

SO LET'S ALL GET HAPPY---

MUSIC---

LOVE DRUG---BOTH CD'S---
i really love this band. the singer has a unique voice, and the music is very interesting. it's a bummer that someone just stole their van and trailer in detroit...so please go to their shows and buys some cd's. or a t shirt online. they need our support right now...and they are just fun to listen to.

IRON MAIDEN---EDWARD THE GREAT---
i normally don't like to listen to greatest hits, because i prefer full albums...but this is the king of them all. every good maiden song is on this one. buy it, and be prepared to be blown away. i love everything about this band. melodic dungeon metal...get into it.

GUIDED BY VOICES---BEE THOUSAND---
this is THE band from dayton ohio. if you live in the area you have to like them. bee thousand is my favorite record, because i can listen to it all the way through. the recording quality on every gbv record is pretty terrible, but it doesn't matter. bob pollard is an artist, not an engineer.

ELLISON---SAY GOODNIGHT, SLEEP ALONE---
i signed these guys to ccm because of their hardwork, and amazing melodies. if you guys havent bought this record, please do...i can listen to it over and over. it reminds me of copeland, jimmy eat world style emo-rock. the songs are well written and well played. give it a shot...

FACE TO FACE---DON'T TURN AWAY
i have been digging out old cds from my early punk rock days. this band has always stood strong with me. i think they were way ahead of their time, and could still survive the style changes of today. if you want some melodic punk rock, you have to own a face to face record.

MOVIES---

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY---
micah and i watched this last night, and we still laughed at every joke. i love the farrelly brothers, and almost everything they do...although shallow hal kinda sucked. watch this movie again, for the first time.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS---
man, it's sad that john candy is gone...he was a genius. i have watched this movie twice in the past couple of weeks, and i am still not tired of it. i wish i went on a family vacation like this. there's always warped tour!

SAW---
ok, the acting in this is terrible, but for some reason i will watch it every time it's on. i am a big horror movie fan, so i have to like some of the new ones as well. although, i do prefer pre-90's horror movies. i like to know exactly who the killer is, and watch him spray blood, haha. but saw has some good twists and turns.

ALIEN---
when i was growing up, i watched this movie every day. and i got scared every day. i hate the fact that there is even a remote chance that aliens exist. i dont think they do, but there sure are alot of movies about them. this one is by far the best. and sigourney is kinda hot...NOT

POINT BREAK---
so we were on the beach yesterday...fort walton beach to be exact, and we were quoting this movie. it's about surfers, sort of. if you like swayze, you gotta get into this one. it's on tbs like every night.

TV---

NBA FINALS---
the cavs got swept! man, i am bummed. basketball is over. nothing cool until football...

GREYS ANATOMY---
micah has been watching season 2, so i have been rewatching it. this show used to be the king, but i just dont know any more...

ENTOURAGE---
vinnie and e are finally making the movie. this show better start picking up some steam. i want to see hollywood and vine...not columbia! drama is slowly stealing the show...

BIG LOVE---
this show is absolutely weird. but i like weird, so it's cool. i cant even imagine what it would be like to have 3 wives...probably frustrating to say the least. but i like a show about it. go bill paxton!

JOHN FROM CINCINNATI---
i don't know if i am into this show yet or not. i thought it would be about cincinnati, which is great because i live there. so i thought it would be super cool. it turns out it's not about cincy at all. it's about surfing...weird.

THAT'S ALL I GOT FOR YOU GUYS THIS WEEK.
THE TOUR IS GOING GREAT. ALL OF THE BANDS ARE FUN...COME SEE THE SHOW!!!

also, i hope you enjoyed the smashing pumpkins song we did. it's hard to do a cover song of one of your favorite bands...you don't wanna change it...you don't wanna keep it the same, so what do you do?
we just took a stab at it.
micah recorded it, and he did a great job.
it's hard, hard, hard to do a song everyone has heard before, because they love the original so much...
so any way, we hope you like it. if not, just don't listen to it hahhaa.

thanks....stay nice and positive.
love JT

HAPPY MONDAY 11

HEY HEY LADIES AND GENTS...
I HOPE YOU ARE ALL DOING WELL.

IT'S THE NIGHT BEFORE OUR TOUR STARTS, AND IT FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS MORNING!
WE REALLY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL. SO PLEASE, COME SEE US!!!

MUZAK---

INTERPOL---i got a sneak peek of their new record and i am digging it a bunch. it has a really indie sound, but with a major recording. how are things on the west coast? well, i will let you know very soon. come to anaheim!!!
NO USE FOR A NAME--MAKING FRIENDS---
this album shaped the way i look at melodic punk rock. i consider this a classic record, so you should all pick it up. it's fun, energetic, and a very easy listen. tony sly's voice got me through mowing lawns one summer.
FOO FIGHTERS---ONE BY ONE
this is another album that i can listen to all the way through. every record that dave grohl touches normally turns to gold...or multiplatinum. i really think that he knows exactly what he wants to do, and that is the magic.
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE---THE BLACK PARADE
like this band or not, i think they are great. every time we have played with them, they have been really nice. they have a very sweet vibe on this record...i think they are reaching beyond the scene, and i am proud of them for that.
JOHNNY CASH---LIVE AT FOLSAM PRISON---
the man in black is killer on this record. try not to like it, i dare you. johnny was punk rock, before there was punk rock. i dont like the fact that he was abusing pills, but the music comes from the heart. and i dig that.

MOVIES---

SLEEPAWAY CAMP---
this movie freaks me out in a good way...please be prepared for the ending of this movie...that's all i can say really. sleepaway camp is a great alternative to friday the 13th. for some reason in the 80's there were alot of murders at summer camps. good for me.
MIDNIGHT COWBOY---
for some reason, i love movies that take a turn for the worse. this movie spirals down down down, which is kind of a bummer. i still really like it though. and it is one of the reasons that i dont want to live in nyc. although, there are plenty of reasons that i don't want to live in nyc.
SPACE BALLS---
Mel Brooks is kind of hit or miss for me. i love blazing saddles...love space balls...love robinhood men in tights. dont like history of the world at all... either way, this movie is a classic. every part is funny. MOGS UNITE!
PURPLE RAIN---
i admit it. i am a prince fan. i dont care if anyone knows it either. how can you not like raspberry beret? or little red corvette? i love this movie because it's cheesey, and kinda bad. but there is a sweet boob shot!
THE LEGEND OF BILLIE JEAN---
helen slater is hottt in this movie. so i watched it again this week. 2 weeks in a row, is not really a stretch for me. so someone please watch this and share my love for it! haha

TV---

HELLS KITCHEN---
the chef is an asshole, but i like it when people get yelled at on tv. mainly, because i think it's all fake...
DESIGNED TO SELL---
this show is on the home and garden network, that should tell that i am a nerd. but i love the way the houses are transformed...and some people live in filth!
FRASIER---
i like anything that has spawned from cheers. i wish frasier was more of an alcoholic on his own show, because i liked him on cheers better
NBA FINALS---
the cavs are down 0-2, but don't count them out. rally rally rally!!!
AMERICAS GOT TALENT---
i made a bad judgement call...this show sucks...

THAT'S IT FOLKS!!!
PLEASE COME TO THE TOUR.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

LOVE JT

HAPPY MONDAY 10

HEY HEY PEEPS

i spent all weekend fishing in west virginia...a nice way to relax before tour. i need all the energy i can get, because i am gonna sign everything you all bring me. and i won't leave until, everything is signed.

any way...HAPPY MONDAY!!!

MUSIC----

GORILLA BISCUITS--START TODAY
i had a three hour drive, so i needed something that could get me really pumped for it. this album is hardcore gang vocals and all. needless to say, i was speeding down highway 71...so i needed something to slow me down.

COLDPLAY---PARACHUTES
this album slowed me way down, which i really needed. this record is my favorite coldplay album by far. i like all the others, but this one was with me first. if you don't own this cd, you are crazy. are you crazy?

CINDERELLA---LONG COLD WINTER
i love 80's hair rock. you should know that by now. the singer of this band has a raspy, but high voice that i wish i had. i love cinderella because they are melodic, but keep it just heavy enough. and the lyrics are really bad...

AFI---DECEMBERUNDERGROUND
i can listen to this album all the way through, which is a plus for me. i'm not a fan of listening ot only one or two songs...i want the whole album. i like all the songs on this album, and i think the band did a great job. i love how it has a little bit of an 80's vibe to it.

MASTODON---BLOOD MOUNTAIN
better shred than dead is what i always say. mastodon shreds through and through. if you like heavy guitar work, i think you should pick this up. this cd is brutal, beautiful, and heavy heavy. i love it....

MOVIES---

KNOCKED UP---
stop reading this, and go watch knocked up. i laughed so, so, so, hard at this movie. if you like the 40 year old virgin, you will love this. and katherine heigl is hot even when she is preg...somebody back me up on this one.

FAST FOOD NATION---
this movie doesnt even compare to the book, but it's a pretty good satire. it is an interesting look into a few different aspects of the fast food industry. it also makes you wonder how much some people from mexico really hate it there, because they would risk their lives to come here to work at a fast food restaurant.

MEAN GIRLS---
i didn't expect much from this movie, but i was pleasantly surprised. i really only have one question...do girls really act like this? because us guys sure don't. i think this movie is kind of ripping off heathers...

LICENSE TO DRIVE---
check it out, this movie is straight from the 80's. i used to watch it every day when i got home from school. so, i decided to watch it to remember those days. it's still great, but a little bit more unrealistic.

FLETCH---
i hear that they are making a new fletch movie, starring zach braff. i hope he does a good job, because this is one of my favorite movies of all time. chevy chase was funny before he stopped doing cocaine...i would prefer that he didn't do cocaine even if he isn't funny any more.

TV---

THE OFFICE---
for some reason, stanley is my favorite character right now. he is as dry as the sahara, but still quick on the draw. does anyone have any stanley nickels for me?

SEINFELD---
for some reason after i bought all of the dvd's, i stopped watching seinfeld. i guess i got burned out. i needed a great. well, the break is over. season 6 is probably my fav.

BIG LOVE---
my anticipation for the 2nd season is insane. this show has everything i love...humor, drama, and 3 wives.
i hope you guys have hbo, because this show is worth a watch for sure. buy the first season dvds!

ENTOURAGE---
This season has gotten my on an emotional roller coaster. is vince gonna be pablo escobar or not! please let me know. i'm glad that ari is back on the case. and i am really glad that johnny drama is gettin' some love!

THE KIDS IN THE HALL---
i have been in love with sketch comedy troupes for a long long time. these guys from canada are really silly.
since they havent released the state on dvd i bought all of these instead. this show also reminds me how much saturday night live sucks.

that's all i have been into this week everyone.
i hope you guys will come to THE SHOW MUST GO ON TOUR...we need to see you!
and please vote for to play an extra 10 minutes in your city on warped tour!

thanks for being sweet.
love JT

HAPPY MONDAY-9

HOLLA HOLLA BOYS AND GIRLS---

HERE IS ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF HAPPY MONDAY. REMEMBER, THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A LIST OF STUFF THAT CAN HELP MAKE YOUR MONDAY MORE ENJOYABLE...

MUSIC---

SMASHING PUMPKINS--SIAMESE DREAM--
I have always really enjoyed this album, so i decided to shake the dust off of it and listen again. the pumpkins are pretty much the only 90's music that i can stand. maybe the gin blossoms... i love the fact that this record is really noisey and melodic. give it another listen.

THE SOUND FOR LANGUAGE--
this is a band from dayton that are actually pretty good. i think you should check them out, so please do so.
they play drop d rock...kinda like helmet or seaweed. www.myspace.com/thesoundforlanguage

MAROON 5--IT WON'T BE SOON BEFORE LONG--
every once in awhile i am in the mood for some "romance" music. the only modern band that can do that for me is maroon 5. i hope they aren't too mainstream for everyone, because this record is great.

THE SWELLERS--
this is a fast, loud, melodic punk band. i cant get over how good they are. i am pretty sure that their new record isnt out yet, so check out their songs on myspace....www.myspace.com/theswellers

THE FRATELLIS---COSTELLO MUSIC---
if you like fast, dancey indie rock...check this out. they are from scotland, and they sure do sound like it. i really think they have something good going on. their single makes me smile...especially on monday!

MOVIES---

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS---
I used to think that this movie was really scary when i was growing up. now i feel dumb, because it's really only creepy. trust me, there is a different. a big difference. i swear that i am not afraid to watch this movie in the dark.

STAND BY ME---
i wish i was still 10 years old. so i could set out on a mission with 3 of my friends to find a dead body. actually i dont want to do that at all. i would rather watch this movie instead. i dont like the fact that the kids smoke!

LIAR LIAR---
I feel like an idiot for thinking this movie is funny, because the humor is so low brow...but i am low brow. and i like really dumb humor. jim carrey is funny, and will always be funny. so i continue to watch him shine.

PUMP UP THE VOLUME---
christian slater at his best. he isnt very good after 1992, but before that he rules. this movie is very anarchist punk rock, in a suburbs kinda way. if you are in high school, watch this movie. but dont do anything that happens in the movie.

BIG FISH---
i have seen this movie a bunch, but the colors really keep me interested. i love the way that tim burton uses colors as a secondary character. you could watch the whole movie on mute and still be interested. but that would suck, so don't do it.

TV---

NBA PLAYOFFS---
go cavs! they are still down in the series, but they played a helluva game 3. i will be watching the game tomorrow, so no interruptions please!

ROSEANNE---
you can't get any sweeter than watching a sit-com about a white trash family. i love it. it reminds me of my childhood. i grew up in west virginia, so i know what this show is all about...landford lunchbox here i come.

DREAM ON---
this show was on hbo in the early 90's. its about a bachelor who just makes out with a different girl every show. what can i say...it's awesome. i wish nyc was really like this.

SHEER GENIUS---
i just recently got into this show, because you guys told me too! and i love it. some of the worst haircuts i have ever seen. a good one every now and then, but most of them suck...bye bye boogie!!!

SPORTS CENTER---
when i wake up in the morning, i'm usually feeling groggy. so i need to turn my brain on. i normally do this by watching sports center. i like to catch up on all the highlights. and see which cincy bengal gets thrown in jail...

I GOTTA GO TO BED. I'M SOOOOO TIRED FOR SOME REASON.

THANKS FOR READING. I AM GOING TO DO A VIDEO BLOG ON MYSPACE THIS WEEK. BE ON THE LOOK OUT. MAYBE THERE WILL BE A NEW SONG ON THERE...JUST A CLIP...

LOVE
JT

HAPPY MONDAY-8

Yo-Yo-Yo my peeps!
I don't even know what that means...
But I do know that it's happy monday time, so here you go:

MU-SICK---

The Format--Dog Problems:::I love this guys voice. I also love how this
music makes me dance my pants off. Actually I can't dance at all, but I
still love the format. But what the hell are dog problems?

Rise Against--The Sufferer and the Witness:::I have been a fan of this
band for quite a while. (Around 3 records) one good thing about them,
is that being on a major label hasn't changed their sound or beliefs. I
still hear a lot of anger, and that's what I want to hear from rise
against. Pick it up, pick it up.

Mates of State--Bring it Back:::the melody on this cd is insanely good.
Mates of state are a husband and wife band, that really compliment each
other. They are like a really clean, simple white stripes. I am way
into this record.

Liam and Me--CD!:::our lawyer represents this band, and they are
actually good. I think their name comes from the big lebowski, which is
sweet. If you wish the killers still sounded like hot fuzz...pick up this
record. I really think it's very good.

Pete York--Nightcrawler:::I love pete yorn. His is honest, and to the
point. And he plays to his strengths. This always makes his albums
consistent. If you like one, you like them all. And I like them all!!!

Moo-V's---

Shrek 3--i can't get over the gingerbread man. I wish they would make a
whole film out of him. He is really unappreciated, because he's so
small. I would prefer him for president over george bush. I'm serious...

Above the Rim--i was kinda feeling old school the other day, so I
watched this movie. Its about rap and street ball...2 of my favorite things.
And I always get sentimental while watching 2pacs old movies. Have you
seen this?

The Goonies--i am a grown man, but I still watch this movie at least
once a month. And it still makes me feel good. I wish I could go on a
caper like this. Maybe on our next tour we will try to find buried
treasure...wanna help?

Road House--now that we are getting ready to tour, I need to learn how
to protect myself again. I have never been in a fight, but this movie
has taught me how to finish it, if I do get in one. Actually, it's just
a silly action movie. Sweet bar brawls!

Varsity Blues--i haven't seen this movie in a few years, and it was on
cable so I watched it. I love football and whipped cream on girls, what
can I say...but actually, this movie isn't too bad if you want mindless
humor.

Tee Vee-----

The office--i watch this show every week, because it rules. Dwight
schrute is funny in every scene. I keep waiting for a bad episode, but it
never comes. Too bad it's the season finale...

Grey's anatomy--the season finale actually pissed me off. Bad
endings...boy do I hate bad endings. I have a feeling this show is going down
hill fastttttt.

Entourage--part of me wants to live in LA and feel super sweet about
it. The other part of me loves the fact that I live in ohio, because the
people are nice. I think I will stay in ohio, because I can't afford
LA.

The Sopranos--this show has gone to complete shit. Absolute
rubbish...luckily there are only 2 episodes left. Does anyone care?

NBA playoffs!!!--although I'm pretty pissed right now, because the cavs
just lost to the pistons...I still love the nba playoffs. I think the
jazz may upset the spurs...mark my words. Or maybe they will get blown
out...

I decided that reading is for nerds...so I didn't read this week.
Hawthorne Heights had a busy week, so I focused on that.

Have you guys got tickets for the tour yet? Please do!!! We are
playing new songs! I want you to hear them. Also free meet and greets at
every show. We miss you guys.
Come say hiiiiiiiii

HAPPY MONDAY-7

SORRY SO LATE!
I HAVE BEEN BUSY ALL DAY LONG...THE CAVS WON!!!

MUSIC---

AFI---SING THE SORROW---I still think that this is the best afi album overall...i will go on record to say that i am a "new school" afi fan. i think they get consistently better on each record, but sing the sorrow is my fav.
EMERY---THE QUESTION---ok ok ok, they are our tour bros' but you have to admit that this cd is damn good. i can't wait for the new cd, mainly because i don't think that they can do anything wrong. be prepared.
BAYSIDE---ACOUSTIC---if you don't have this, pick it up. the song WINTER will always be first in my heart for obvious reasons. bayside sounds great any time...stripped down or polished. but get this cd for a special side of bayside.
COPELAND---BENEATH MEDICINE TREE---if i am ever feeling really mellow and chill, i will put this cd on. it's consistently good all the way through. i think the singer's falsetto is to die for.
AMERICA---GREATEST HITS---nothing like some good classic rock to get the creative juices flowing. i recommend sister golden hair as a starter song. but you can't go wrong with horse with no name. i bet your parents like this band.

MOVIES

VACANCY---this is a horror movie that doubles as a thriller. it takes place at a little shitty hotel, like the ones we used to stay in every time we toured through arizona or new mexico. you don't want to know what really happens at those places...but watch this movie to find out.
THE EX---i am a zach braff and jason bateman fan...so this movie was right up my alley. if you like silly slapstick humor, this movie is for you. it hasn't been getting good reviews, but it really is worth a shot. don't feel bad if you wait for the dvd!
THE OUTSIDERS---i have read this book 100 times, mainly all throughout school. i bet i have seen the movie 1000 times, and it doesn't get any better or worse each time i watch it. i still can't decide if i am a greaser or a soc'. what do you think?
RED DAWN---i was on a patrick swayze kick this week. i love the swayzzzzzz. this movie is pretty much the outsiders, only 20 years later and in a war scenario. something makes me feel punk rock after watching this.
MAJOR LEAGUE---i like charlie sheen alot. but i also like baseball movies, and i hate baseball. why do people like baseball? it's really boring and takes all day to watch. watch this movie about baseball instead. trust me.

TV

WHEEL OF FORTUNE---i beat matt's ass at wheel of fortune tonight, although he won't ever admit to it. ask him next time you see him.
NBA PLAYOFFS---i am still watching this, mainly because the CAVS are still in it. i have to represent all ohio teams...
THE OFFICE---did anyone watch this episode? if was classic...they whole office went to the beach and had a survivor style contest. buy this on itunes.
THE WEAKEST LINK---man this show is stupid. and i am stupid, so i guess it's a match made in heaven. i only like the version with the british bitch running the show...she suuuuuuucks.
THE FIRST 48---casey turned me onto this show. it's a real life crime show, where they try to find the murderer within the first 48 hours after the body is found...clever name.

READING

i didn't really read anything this week. but check out the following books...

AMERICAN PSYCHO---BRET EASTON ELLIS
IT---STEPHEN KING
THE OUTSIDERS--S. E. HINTON
EVERYBODY HURTS---LESLIE SIMON AND TREVOR KELLEY
CASH---JOHNNY CASH

i didn't read much, because i have been working on lyrics, and trying to write a power ballad.
i have been listening to sirius satellite radio all day long...if you have sirius satellite listen to HAIR NATION!!!

once again, sorry so late guys.
but happy late monday...thanks for believing in us. and listening to us.
love JT

happy monday--6

Hell-ohhhh my dearest friends...

I'm on an airplane flying back from bamboozle. I am not a fan of flying
at all. In fact, I find it very scary...
I just want to say thank you to everyone who watched us at bamboozle.
We had an amazing time, because you guys were singing and dancing. All
of our fans make flying in a scare-plane worthwhile. We would fly,
ride, or swim to get to see you guys. So once again, thank you.

Any way,

Happy Happy Monday!

Here is another list of things I have been into this week...

Music---

The Beatles---Let it Be---there are so many good songs on this album. I
really cannot figure out how they are so good at writing melodies.
Every song they have is so beautiful and brilliant...so buy some Beatles
records.

The Shins---Chutes too Narrow---I'm going to admit that I had never
heard this band before the movie Garden State. Boy, was I missing out. All
3 of their records are incredible, but I think that this one is my
favorite right now. And of course that could change next week.

Silverstein---New Songs---we have been friends with this band for 4
years now. They are always sweet dudes who write sweet tunes. They played
right after us at bamboozle, and they were amazing. I really think
their new album will be super great.

Mat Kearney---new record---this guy is a solo artist who slams. He
mostly plays acoustic guitar and sings softly, but every once in awhile he
kinda sings spoken word hip-hop style. If you like greys anatomy, you
will like this cd.

Alkaline Trio---Crimson---I love "the trio" and I hope you all do too.
They consistently write good songs on each album. In todays society,
that is really hard...because people start to expect things out of bands
that isn't possible. "The trio" make it possible.

Movies---

Spiderman 3---Casey, Micah, and I watched this movie opening night,
mainly because we are nerds. I was a little disappointed, but all in all
it was a fine movie. I wanted more from the villains, but I still
recommend it.

Children of the Corn---i hope you all know by now, that I love horror
movies. And I specifically like horror movie adaptations of Steven King
novels. If you haven't seen this one, please do because the idea of it
is very creepy. Nebreska is creepy.

Magnolia---i really like PT Anderson movies. He knows how to set a
mood, and drive that mood successfully for over 2 hours. That's pretty hard
to do if you think about it. This movie is full of downward spirals,
please watch it.

An American Family (The Beach Boys)---This is a dark look at what was
going on in the Wilson family during the ups and downs of the Beach
Boys. It's good because it doesn't play like a TV movie. If you like the
Beach Boys, check this out...and if you don't, watch it anyway. Because
you should like the Beach Boys.

The Experts---This is a silly 80's movie with John Travolta. Its about
a small town in russia that is supposed to resemble a small town in
kansas. As it turns out, its a russian spy camp that is training russians
to act like americans, so they can spy on us. Sounds sweet right?

TV---

Entourage---if you don't like this show, you are crazy! I really want
vinnie to get back with ari. And this weeks episode brought them one
step closer. I Love It!

NBA Playoffs!---the cavaliers are still winning games, which makes me
very happy. But, I started to follow the cinderella story of the Golden
State Warriors. I love upsets and underdogs...so I hope they keep
winning! It gives me hope.

Greys Anatomy---I'm getting kinda bummed at this show. I can't believe
that Addison is leaving for her own show. This normally signals the
beginning of the end...hopefully they can keep it together.

The Wonder Years---i love this show. The bad part is that you can't buy
it on dvd. So I have to find it re-running on weird channels. It's hard
to find, but when you do it's always worth the extra channel surfing!

The Sauce on Fuze---for some reason I kinda like this show. It's pretty
good especially for a music channel trl type thing. So give it a show
if that's your thing.

Reading---

I didn't read much this week. Too busy playing guitar and watching
basket ball.

Absolutepunk.net---this is always my daily source of punk rock drama. I
like to find out who is breaking up, getting back together, and who is
on tour.

Hitsdailydouble.com---if you wanna know the top 50 album sales of each
week, check this site on tuesday nights. It will let you know that the
Hinder album is still selling...so get depressed.

The Stand, by Steven King---Matt is still reading this book. Its over
1000 pages, so my bet is that he is going to give up before he finishes
it. But I skip through it every few days.

ESPN.com---since I am not a high roller, I had to check here for the
results of the Kentucky Derby and the De La Hoya fight. The site works
great from my blackberry, which means I can get sweet updates on whose
winning anything.

And thanks to those who got to see us at bamboozle. We did a free

happy monday-5

Hey y'all!
I am trying to get a jump on my list this monday, so you don't have to wait until 2 am to read it this week. Thanks to everyone who reads this week after week! You guys keep music fun...

Happy monday-5

Music

Death cab for cutie---plans---when this record came out, I pretty much listened to it every single day for a month. So in other words, I love it so much I burned it out. Well, I was on an airplane all weekend, so I re-listened to it...and re-burned it out!!!
Arctic monkeys---new record---i don't want to like this record at all, but for some reason I do. If you like brit stuff, give it a shot. I hated their last record, but this one is swell.
Dio---greatest hits---if you like silly harmony littered cheese metal, you have to own this record. Holy diver is a killer track, but something makes me like rainbow in the dark a little bit more.
The aka's---the aka's are everywhere---you all should know that one of my best friends is a dude name mike ski. He sings for the aka's. You have to see him as a front man live to appreciate this band. So check them out at bamboozle on saturday.
Bayside---bayside---this is still my favorite record from these guys. It means something really special to me, so I can never get tired of it. If you don't have it, pick it up. Pick them all up.

Movies
Planes, trains, automobiles---if you like crappy 80's comedies...you have to own this. John candy and steve martin are brilliant together. I laugh out loud everytime I watch it.
My blue heaven---i hope the tbs song is named after this movie, because I love their song and this movie. Its a comedic spoof on the movie goodfellas...starring steve martin. Oh so sweet.
Lovely and amazing---this is a total chick flick or something you would watch with your mom...but I like it. Every girl should make their boyfriend watch this movie...so do it girls.
The departed---if you haven't seen it, you're missing out. Scorsese at his best. And I am a total marky mark fan...so this movie just spoke to me. The gunshots don't sound like hollywood...they sound real.
Rockstar---i hope you don't have to be a musician to love this movie...because I want you all to like it. Its over the top ridiculous. Hair metal is a pleasure of mine...and I don't feel guilty about it.

Tv---
Notes from the underbelly---somebody please tell me that you also love this show. Its a new version of a comedy. Its about a couple who just got pregnant, so they are freaking out!!!
Freaks and geeks---all of my favorite shows get cancelled. So you gotta buy the dvd for this, but you won't be disappointed. Its like the wonder years, but way nerdier.
Nba playoffs---i have been trying to watch every game. I am a cavs fan...but I want the warriors to beat the mavs...go underdogs.
Nfl football draft---i "watched" this from my blackberry all weekend. The cincinnati bengals got some sweet picks...and cleveland got brady quinn. Go ohio!!!

Reading---
I was on an airplane a lot this weekend, which means magazine fest!
Entertainment weekley---this issue has all the summer movies that are coming out...go shrek 3!
People magazine---i told you I am a sucker for this. I like celebs, and I want to know what they are doing.
Absolutepunk.net---this is my nightly fix on what's happening in the music scene. They weren't bashing us to bad this week.
Ebay.com---i was "reading" trying to find a white sg standard...no luck!
Rolling stone magazine---ok, so I haven't started reading any novels lately...but I am a musician so I should at least be reading about music. So I am...

Ok everyone, that's it. Signed, sealed, delivered...
If there are typos and mistakes, sorry...I did this one on my blackberry. But at least you got it.

Please buy tickets to our upcoming tour. We need to see some smiling faces...so we don't frown anymore.
Big announcement on tuesday night...
See you soon.
Love
Jt

HAPPY MONDAY 4

HEY HEY HEY
I bet you all thought i forgot about you...
Well, of course I didn't. Today was just very very long for me.
Any way, here you go...

HAPPY MONDAY-4

MUSIC---

SILVERSUN PICKUPS---Please pick up this record. It's seriously one of the best albums I have heard all year. It's slowly becoming something I listen to on a daily basis.
MEW--FRENGERS---If you haven't had a chance to listen to this band, give them a try. The singer's voice is gold, and the instruments are complexly pop! I think they are from sweden, but does that matter?
SAVES THE DAY--SOUND THE ALARM---It took me a long time to believe in this band again. they used to be a favorite of mine, but i just didn't like their last record at all. their new record isn't quite as good as stay what you are, but it's pretty darn good.
THE BEATLES--REVOLVER---Ok, make sure that you all know that my favorite band of all time is the beatles. i really do think that they have something for everyone on each of their albums. the songs are great, weird pop songs. and for the record...i chose paul over john every time.
JIMMY EAT WORLD--CLARITY---I was in a sit down and relax mood the other night, so i put this record on. the melodies on this cd are to die for...and if you want to just chilllllllllllllll out, this is a good way to do it.

MOVIES---

DREAMGIRLS---I am a sucker for music history movies. I am a big fan of motown music, so I thought that I should probably check this out. I ended up really liking all the characters in this movie, and for a musical...it wasn't too lame. The motown music industry was whack...the head of the label kept all the money for everything. sound familiar?
LA BAMBA---I told you that i love music movies! This is one of my favs for sure. It's kind of sad though, because Ritchie Valens dies in a plane crash at the end. He was only 17 years old. We have been doing alot of flying to get to shows lately, and it always scares me because of this movie. Man, i hate flying.
INVINCIBLE---I am a sports nut. Football is my favorite sport, so this movie was right up my alley. It's great because the main character is an underdog with talent, and he finally gets discovered. I love any movie with that plot.
OVER THE TOP---Sly Stallone as truck driver/arm wrestler...what more can I say. The fact that this movie centers around professional arm wrestling and a child custody battle is sheer genius. get into it!
SLING BLADE---I watch this movie every time it's on tv. I am a sucker for it. It's touching and hilarious. I'm pretty sure that I'm not supposed to be laughing...but i am every time. I love the fact that billy bob thornton can do a movie like this...and bad santa.

TV---

NBA PLAYOFFS!---I was flying during the Cavs game, but at least they won. There are some good match-ups...so if you like march madness, give it a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed.
GREY'S ANATOMY---First of all, katharine heigl is a stone cold fox. Second of all, I don't care if people make fun of me for watching this show. It's good, and the babes are eye candy...man i suck haha.
TOP CHEF---I like anything on bravo. or any show that will vote off people who suck...or keep people on the show because they suck. tv relies on ratings, and nice people don't get good ratings. luckily, there are tons of idiots willing to huge idiots just to stay on tv. make sense?
THE OFFICE---I have not seen a bad episode of this show yet. in fact, i think they have really hit a good stride. this show better not go down hill, because right now it's stellar. dwight k. schrute.
30 ROCK---this is a show, within a show. it's about a sketch comedy show, which is a topic that interests me. if you like tina fey from snl, you will like this alot. i am personally a huge alec baldwin fan, so i stay tuned for him...

BOOKS---
I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO READ THIS WEEK!!! I WAS BUSY WRITING SONGS FOR YOU ALL TO HEAR. AND I HOPE YOU HEAR THEM SOON. VERY SOON.

PLEASE BUY TICKETS TO OUR UPCOMING TOUR. WE WANT TO SEE YOU THERE WITH BELLS ON. WE WILL BE HANGING OUT AT OUR MERCH TABLE, JUST LIKE OLD TIMES...SO STOP BY AND SAY HI!

WE LOVE YOU...

HAPPY MONDAY-3

Hey everyone-
It's a sunny sunny monday in southern ohio. i thought about mowing the lawn...but i'm not quite ready for that yet. so instead, i compiled a sweet happy monday list for everyone to read...

HAPPY MONDAY-3

MUSIC
THE STARTING LINE-BASED ON A TRUE STORY...We just played with these guys on saturday, so i decided to give it another listen on the flight home. I forgot how much i like this band. and they are super sweet dudes.
DRAGONFORCE-INHUMAN RAMPAGE...If you haven't heard this band yet, please check them out. They sound like iron maiden on meth. meth is a very very bad thing. but dragonforce is a very very good thing.
PLUS 44-UNTIL YOUR HEART STOPS...I have always been a blink 182 fan. and i think mark hoppus is really a great guy. i have never met him, but he carries himself well. and the album is way good.
JOURNEY-GREATEST HITS...I listen to this album at least once a week. if you like 80's rock, you gotta own this. there is nothing hip about owning a journey album...but i'm not hip, so i don't care.
ALL AMERICAN REJECTS-MOVE ALONG...These guys just flat out write good songs. we have toured with them a couple of times, and they are always nice. i hope they record another cd soon, because i am wearing this one out.

MOVIES
PANS LABYRINTH...This movie is insane. I thought it was going to be like a kids movie, but it's totally not. there is a lot of death and destruction. the colors and art direction of the movie is visually stunning. wow, that sounded like a movie review. i am lame.
UNDER SIEGE...Micah and I watched this movie in a hotel in scranton pennsylvania on saturday night. it's hysterically bad, but i can't resist. steven segal is an ass kicker with a pony tail, enough said. steven segal also has a band, so check them out on myspace. i'm not kidding
LOST IN TRANSLATION...I have a thing for scarlett johanssen, i admit it. but, this movie is seriously good. watch it again if you have already seen it. because, it's funny all the way through...and there is an eerie silence to it. if two people like each other, they should just say it...
ALMOST FAMOUS...Any musician has to love this movie. if they don't, they aren't really a musician. i love how cameron crowe tells the stories of his own life. and i love the 70's, because people could grow beards back then. i want a beard really badly.
FRIDAY THE 13TH...I don't have a hockey mask tattood on my body for nuthin'. even though jason isn't officially in this movie, it's still one of my favorites in the series. and as it turns out, his mom is a hell of a killer too. watch this movie at least once every two weeks. trust me.

READING
THE EMO BOOK BY LESLIE SIMON AND TREVOR KELLY...This book officially comes out next tuesday so pick it up. it's very very funny, and i still can't put it down. it's a look at how silly this genre has become.
ESPN THE MAGAZINE...I watch so many sports on tv, that i guess i should read them as well. i'm not sure that even makes sense...but seriously, i am really into the upcoming nfl and nba drafts...so i am studying up.
ABSOLUTEPUNK.NET...yes, they still bash my band...but, it's still a very informative site. i like to stay connected to all the bands in the indie scene, and this is the best way i have found to do it.
NINTENDO.COM...I search this site every monday so i can find out new games on the wii shop channel. i like classic games, so this is where i go to find them. they put galaga up this week...an arcade classic!
BLENDER...this magazine is full of hot girls, hot music, and hot new gadgets. those are my 3 favorite things. so i buy this magazine whenever i am at the airport, which has been alot lately. sorry, but i guess i am a typical dude.

ok everyone, so that's it for this week.
i would like to announce that we are touring again in june, july, and august.
please check hawthorneheights.com for the cities we are playing. and buy tickets fast, because they are cheaper right now.
june and july will be with POWERSPACE, BRIGHTEN, SECONDHAND SERENADE, AND FROM FIRST TO LAST...We are fans of all these bands, so we hope you are too...

see you later.
love JT

HAPPY MONDAY-2

hey guys!
guess what day it is...
monday!
and you know what that means...
HAPPY MONDAY time.

so here you go...

HAPPY MONDAY-2

MUSIC

MOJAVE 3---PUZZLES LIKE YOU...if you like indie brit pop, check this cd out.

BRIGHTEN---KING VS QUEEN...yes i am still listening to this. because it is amazing. seriously, check it out...

THE PINK SPIDERS---i forget what their new album is called, but its great. produced by rick ocasek from the cars!!!

BEACH BOYS---ENDLESS SUMMER... i just watched the made for tv movie. their story is screwed up, but the music is timeless.

PLAY RADIO PLAY---i think alot of kids are going to be into this guy. sweet melodies and fragile songs. and he seems like a silly dude, which is cool.

MOVIES

GRINDHOUSE---seriously, this movie(s) was refreshing. a great rebirth of oldschool drive-in flicks. i absolutely loved it.

THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS---i thought this movie was done really well. not sappy at all, but actually uplifting. if you feel like your life sucks...watch this movie. because you're life probably isn't all that bad.

WEDDING CRASHERS---i have absolutely no "game" at all. but i wish i acted like these guys. unfortunately, i don't.

PAPILLION---if you are into movies like the shawshank redemption, check this one out. it's an older flick, but the good guy wins. and you can't go wrong with steve mcqueen and dustin hoffman.

JAWS 2---of course, the original is the best. but part 2 is a pretty good sequel. it's far-fetched, and i am glad for that. because, i personally don't want to think that there are multiple big ass sharks that can eat me.

TV

NBA BASKETBALL---i am a CAVS fan, let's get that straight. but i like basketball plain and simple. and baseball is worthless, so the NBA playoffs are the only thing left until football starts.

ENTOURAGE---new season started, so i must list this again. i hope vince takes ari back. i love happy endings...but i must say, that vince's new manager is hottt.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT---you will all be happy to know that i get up every day before 11am to catch TPIR. this is bob barker's last season, so i know he will snap at any moment. and PLINKO sikkkkkkk.

HOUSE---i think it's funny that the main character "house" is a british actor, mainly because he has a really weird fake american accent. i wish somebody would tell him that it's not cool to pop pills...i wish house was straight edge.

AMERICAS NEXT TOP MODEL---yes, i am still into it. but does anyone else think that jael looks like an ugly dude?

READING

ALTERNATIVE PRESS---i just got the new issue (subscribers only cover) you gotta read that article on saosin...it sounds like they hate each other, although i hope they don't. they are a great band. maybe it's just taken out of context...i hope.

WWW.BENGALS.COM---i am trying to figure out who the cincy bengals are taking in the upcoming nfl draft. probably somebody who won't pan out...but there's always hope.

WWW.EBAY.COM---i always look to see if people are bootlegging stuff that we have signed. not cool! also, right now someone is selling band t shirts really cheap. 15 shirts for 20 bucks. not sure who, and there isnt an HH shirt in there. but there are some tbs, bayside, silverstein, emery, etc...check it out on ebay. i dont remember the link, so search...someone is getting a good deal.

SPIN MAGAZINE---this mag reminds me of how uncool i am. and my band is. but we like the songs we play, and some of you guys do to...at least we write them ourselves.

BUZZNET.COM---this site is good, because i can work it. and that is saying alot. haha.

ok, so there you have it. this is simply a list of stuff that i have been into this week. take it for what it is, just an opinion...so listen, watch, and read some of this stuff. you might hate it. you might get turned on to something new.

thanks everyone.

happy monday

cheer up...it's monday.
it's halftime of the ncaa championship and the ohio state buckeyes are down 11.
i'm not happy. i need to cheer up. maybe they will come out strong in the second half...

every week i will be posting something called "happy monday"
it's simply going to be a list of stuff that i have been into the previous week. i will try to include music, movies, books, websites, shows, bands, etc. it's going to be a list of things that i think you guys should check out.
so here it goes...

HAPPY MONDAY-1

secondhand serenade--it's just a dude with an acoustic guitar strummin his heart out, ala early dashboard
the graduate--new cd out on icon records. it's a little dancey and romancey. get into it.
powerspace--new band on fueled by ramen. i've only heard one song, but it's good.
augustana--if you like piano radio rock, check out these guys. i love their song boston. i'm a nerd.
a voice like rhetoric--small band from pittsburgh, that freakin shreds. check them out.

americas next top model--i don't know why i like this, but i think it's because of the hot girl drama.
top design--more drama, but with interior designers...and todd oldham.
the office--this show is undeniabley funny. and most of the time it's inapproriate humor.
the riches--check out this show on FX. it's about some gypsies who stole a family's identity. trust me!
entourage--season 3 comes out on dvd tomorrow, and the new season starts thursday. vinnie chase!

thinner--this is a steven king book that is also about gypsies. it's a culture that i find interesting.
us weekly--this is how i keep up with pete wentz's whereabouts.
velvetrope.com--check out this website for insider music industry information. for real music nerds only.

wii play for nintendo wii. this is the only video game i have ever played that includes pinball.

so there you go...
the first installment of HAPPY MONDAY is live on the internet.
feel free to check out the stuff listed. i am into it, so maybe we will have something in common.

thanks for being interested.

March 31, 2007

go buckeyes

Did anyone other than me watch the ohio state vs. Georgetown game? I know, iprobably shouldn't watch sports because I am in a band...but I have to be myself. I love football and basketball. Since, we have been off the road for a couple of months I have been able to catch up on some old hobbies I had fallen out of touch with. I have also been playing way too much tecmo bowl for nintendo wii. So, pretty soon basketball will be over and I will be tired of video games...that can only lead to one thing. MORE TOURING. I can't wait to hit the road again to see you're smiling faces. You guys still smile right? I hope so.

I will be back in ohio tomorrow. Just in time to watch the catminster cat show on the game show network. Check it out if you are a cat lover.
Stay sweet yall.

More entries tomorrow. Stay safe.
Stay positive.

todays entry!

hey everybody!
i promise to update this every week day. i will be leaving to visit my family in west virginia over the week end. (yes,i grew up in west virginia) (yes, this is why i have a southern accent) so i will be off the net for 2 days. expect more on sunday.

a few great things happened today.

wvu won the nit basketball tournament.
i ate at a mexican restaurant.
i watched 5 episodes of the office.
and i played guitar.

ok, so maybe none of that stuff is great, but it was fun.

i have been listening to the new shins record a lot. as well as the new reliant k. i want to go watch reign over me at the movie theatre, so maybe that will be a priority next week.

my new favorite drink is metromint water. check it out if you can. some people think it tastes like mouthwash, i think it tastes like heaven.
and for real...go get some girl scout cookies.

if you haven't seen the movie the squid and the whale, i highly recommend.
i highly do NOT recommend running with scissors. it was baaaaaaaad.

see you guys soon.
we should have some great tour news soon, for pre-warped action. we want to get back out there and see you guys.

stay sweet.
